Renee Lantner, M.D., attended Northwestern University for both undergraduate and medical education, earning her M.D. in 1984. She completed her residency training at the Indiana University Medical Center followed by a combined adult and pediatric fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1989.
Dr. Lantner spent the first ten years of her career as an attending physician at Loyola University Medical Center and as Associate Professor in the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics. She then chose to pursue a career in private practice and joined Dr. Ganju in 2000, who retired in 2013.
Dr. Lantner has a strong interest in treating asthma, chronic cough, atopic dermatitis (eczema), insect sting allergy, anaphylaxis, urticaria/angioedema (hives and swelling) and recurrent infections. In addition, she is very interested in integrative medicine, drawing from traditional medicine, but also evaluating lifestyle, diet, exercise, supplements, and medications with their interactions and other holistic ways to improve health.
Dr. Lantner served as President for both the Illinois Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Suburban Asthma Consortium. She served as medical advisor for POCA (Parents of Children with Allergies) of DuPage. She is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She is also a volunteer with the Citizens Reserve Corps of Western Springs.
Dr. Lantner has published and lectured in the fields of asthma, allergy, and nutrition. She is married and the proud mother of two adult daughters. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, piano, traveling, cooking, yoga, Pilates and Zumba.
